Our Rangers return home bruised, battered, and clinging to the 8th seed of the Eastern Conference playoffs by the slimmest of margins. We are tied with the Florida Panthers in total points (89) but hold the tie breaker (total wins) by a single win.
Looking ahead to the next two games - we're finally back home to the Canadians (Tuesday) and the Flyers (Thursday). Meanwhile our rivals the Panthers have two road games - the Flyers and Hurricane.
So this is our final chance to pull away. If we sweep our 2 home ice matches, and the Panthers lose even one on the road - the 8th seed is ours.
So this is it - we've got to do this now.
Looking on the scoreboard tonight - there's some hockey but nothing of interest to us anymore. The Magic Rat (our rooting advisor) takes a pass - your Blueshirt Brothers don't care about the scoreboard tonight. The Sabre's are not likely to catch us. And we're not likely to catch anyone else.
It's going to be the Rangers or the Panthers playing Boston in round one.
