But the Rangers suddenly were the team that looked stronger in the Third Period - getting two big goals - SEANNY (with a wicked fast one timer) and Betts (getting a great rebound off his own weak shot). And the game ended like Thursday - with the Flyers throwing everything at Lundqvist and Henrik standing tall.
We even had a nice little fight at the end with our small Mr. Avery once again holding his own. I liked how he snuck a punch in behind the linesman's head. (The photo above is Sjostrom giving Hartnell a friendly pat on the head for a job well done.)
We do a little damage to the Flyers - which actually may not be good since what's bad for Philly is good for the Penguins - who seem to own the Rangers in post season. Philly now heads into the Pittsburgh series having lost 4th place (and home ice advantage) to them on the final day.
And to give Nugman his due - if we had beaten the Flyers one more time this season we would lead them in the standings.
The Rangers once again scored at least 3 goals and won. With 7th place secure it was the least stressful hockey game I've watched in months - almost fun.
Great win. Great finish to the season. And now the real fun begins. Read on below for Nugman's great take on the game and some playoff analysis.
