Rangers Name Team MVP....is there any doubt?

For the third straight season, the writers voted Henrik Lundqvist MVP of the Rangers. He's the first Ranger to win the award three straight years since....Andy Bathgate 50 years ago! (Leetch is the all-time leader winning the award 6 times in his 16 seasons with the Rangers)

The Rangers players voted on the "Player's Player" award, giving it out to two guys, Captain Chris Drury, and Blair Betts. Probably the rangers two best forwards on the penalty kill all year (except for maybe sjostrom) and two guys that have blocked more shots than anyone on the team.

The rangers are off again tonight, but they could have their first round opponent decided for them without even having to lace up their skates. Montreal hosts Pittsburgh tonight. The Rangers already have a tie-breaker over Montreal. Pittsburgh needs a win to try and secure home ice in the first round. If Pittsburgh wins in REGULATION, then the Rangers are automatically the 7 seed, and will play the Caps, regardless of the outcome in philly tomorrow. If Montreal gets the game to OT, or wins outright, then the Rangers have to win in Philly to get the 7 seed, or lose and they will play the Bruins.
