Pittsburgh outshot Florida 42 to 26. They also lost. This is very very bad for our New York Rangers who no longer lead the Panthers by any points at all.We're tied for 8th. And of course we're tied for 9th as well. So we are straddling the Line-O-Death with Florida with just 3 games to play. One of us will make the playoffs and one will not.
Our only advantage is the tiebreaker - wins - which we hold by a narrow margin. Which means that technically the Panthers are still chasing us.
Florida has 3 games left: At Philly, at Atlanta, and Washington at home. In theory they could easily lose two of those games.
But of course so could we. We have Montreal at home, then home and home with the Flyers.
So our next point of interest is Tuesday night - when we have Montreal at home. In a cluster of huge games - this one stands above all the came before it. We must must win or die trying.

Call me crazy Dave, but I am pretty sure that is the logo for the "Carolina Panthers", they of the NFL.
ReplyDeleteI realize it is hard to find pictures, or any recognition of a hockey team in Florida, but I feel like this is a mishap the blueshirt brothers are too good to make. Unless of course this was an intentional joke of sorts showing what little respect we have for the NHL panthers? If that be the case, then, haha.
Good catch, Nugs. I was searching for pictures of Panthers in general and when I saw the logo I jumped without thinking. It's fixed now - and I must say - the Florida Panther's actual logo looks like something a high school team would come up with.
