Flyers cut the lead in half, One period for the Playoffs

The Flyers scored on the power play in the second period to cut the lead in half. Hank has been fantastic through two periods, at times standing on his head to turn away a consistent Flyers attack. 27 saves on 28 shots.

After Marc Staal took a hooking penalty infront of Hank, the Flyers went on their third power play. Halfway through it, Paul Mara took a hard slap shot to the body, falling to the ice, and rendering him ineffective for the remainder of the power play. The rangers were unable to gain possession and get a stoppage, so it was essentially a 5 on 3 for the Flyers, and briere buried a goal into a wide open net. Tough break for the Rangers, and one they will have to overcome in the third.

Biron has really picked up his play from a shaky start, and has made some huge saves keeping the Flyers in the game. Both goalies have been very strong, but once again Hank has been the better one. It all comes down to the third period. 20 minutes away from Hank tying his career high with 37 wins, and more importantly, from the Rangers making their 4th straight trip to the playoffs.

Around the NHL, The Bruins held a 3-1 lead on the Canadians, but they have come back to tie 3-3 late in the second period. The panthers are tied 1-1 with Atlanta heading to the third, and the Sabres appear to have their game wrapped up with a 4 goal lead heading to the third in Carolina. The rangers control their destiny, 20 minutes.
