Around the League, Predictions looking Good

There's something wonderful about being able to watch a playoff hockey game, and having nothing on the line. To know somewhere else, someone is sh*ting themselves each time their team gets down a man. To know that possibly a small annoying child that only became a fan because his team was in first place, is now watching his team go down in flames, and the idea that he is forcing tears even though he doesn't know the names of more than 5 guys on the team, really brings a smile to my face.

Anyway, the Hurricanes picked up the road win they had to have to upset the Devils, winning 2-1 in OT, and now head home where they have been the hottest team in the NHL.

Pittsburgh takes a 2 games to none lead on the Flyers, beating them in OT. (And as I said before, the Rangers should get credit for ending the Flyers season, and I will make sure they do. I hope there were Flyer's players sitting in the locker room tonight going, "We are down 0-2, and have to win 4 of 5, with 2 of those games on the road...thanks to blair betts")

(Keep in mind, I do believe the Devils and Flyers are inferior teams to the Penguins and Carolina, and should the Rangers advance, they will face a tougher opponent...but I really hate the Devils and Flyers. I enjoy the one and done aspect for them. Sounds nice)

Tomorrow afternoon, the real fun starts. Rangers-Caps Game 2 at 1 pm!

  1. Also little fun stat for those out there: Devils have now lost 8 of their last 10 playoff games.

  2. And a season where the Rangers last even one more day than the Devils is a good year - no matter what else happens...
