With 30 seconds left Callahan skated the puck out of the Rangers zone and to center ice, where he battled 2 devils and ate 20 seconds of time along the boards. The Devils worked the puck back in for one final attempt on Hank, but a cross ice pass was beautifully broken up by a lunging Kotalik and the puck went harmlessly into the corner, where it, and the Devils hopes of getting to .500 any time soon died.
Rangers win 3-2, Doc sounds very depressed but tries to remain professional, and the postgame crew sums it up with one perfectly worded sentence:
