Under Way in Washington

Three-or-More in net for the Caps, not sure why, I guess Bruce Boudreau is a Rangers fan?

Early in the game the big question is which defensive pairing the Rangers are going to have go against The Capitals devestating line of Ovechkin, Semin and Backstrom. Looks like Boudreau wants to avoid Staal-Girardi, and is trying to get matched up against Redden-Gilroy.

Rangers have come out much stronger than they did against Jersey on Monday. Which doesn't say much I guess. The fact that the Rangers are actually shooting the puck at three-or-more is already progress from Monday's start.

- My early criticism of theodore has inspired the old goalie, two great saves on Gaborik to rob him of a goal, and Prospal also broke in all alone and blasted a shot at Theodore that was turned away.

16 minutes left in the first, Caps get their first power play as Doobie heads to the box. Hank screened, pulls the puck out of midair, fantastic save on a puck ticketed for the upper corner of the net glove side.

UPDATE: Rangers kill the penalty, but not without a scare. With about 10 seconds left in the power play, Washington got the puck to Ovechkin, wide open about 8 feet in front of Hank. In what has to be one of the only times in his career he has ever passed up on the shot, Ovechkin tried to force a pass down low and the puck didn't connect, and the Rangers cleared....The capitals power play reminds me of the Penguins in the mid 1990's with Super Mario and Jagr. Easily the longest 2 minutes in sports.
